Happened... I was on one of the most beautiful mountains of Crimea –   Demirji. Right under your feet is the famous Valley of Ghosts, where light, color, shadows, penumbra are constantly on the move and create the illusion of illusory and unreal.

Свершилось… Я на одной из самых красивых гор Крыма – Демирджи. Прямо под ногами знаменитая Долина Приведений, где свет, цвет, тени, полутени постоянно в движении и создают иллюзию призрачности и нереальности.

After the first stupefaction seen, the feeling of a certain "deja vu" came about, there was a feeling that I had once been in a similar situation. The touch of hands to the stone pillars caused a flash of consciousness, and memory prompted - the Greek Meteors. There was also a sense of temporary transference and fantastic pictures floated before my eyes. Here again ...

После первого ошеломления увиденным, пришло чувство некоего «дежа вю», возникло ощущение, что я уже был когда-то в подобной ситуации. Прикосновение рук к каменным столбам вызвало вспышку сознания, и память подсказала – греческие Метеоры. Там тоже было ощущение временного переноса и перед глазами проплывали фантастические картины. Вот и опять…

This happened when the human race did not yet exist on Earth. There was no Black Salt Sea, but there was a huge freshwater Novoieksinskoe Sea.

Это произошло, когда рода человеческого ещё не существовало на Земле. Не было и Черного солёного моря, а было громадное пресноводное Новоевксинское море.  

The Titan Kronos killed his father Uranus to consolidate his power made his brothers and sisters, the hecatonchires and the Cyclops, and all their newly created sisters and brothers in Tartarus. Kronos was the exact copy of his father Uranus, he swallowed all his children that came from his sister-wife Rhea. One child Rhea managed to save. It was Zev. With the help of his aunt Matidi, he managed to bring them out of the womb of Kronos swallowed brothers and sisters. He led a revolt of the freed brothers and sisters against the Titans.

Титан Кронос, убивший своего отца Урана, чтобы закрепить свою власть заключил своих братьев и сестёр, гекатонхейров и циклопов и всех своих ново созданных  братьев и сестёр в Тартар. Кронос стал точной копией своего отца Урана, он глотал всех своих детей, которые появлялись от его сестры-жены Реи. Одного ребёнка Реи удалось спасти. Это был Зев. С помощью своей тётки Метиды, ему удалось вывести их утробы Кроноса проглоченных братьев и сестёр. Он и возглавил восстание освобождённых братьев и сестёр против Титанов.

On the expanses of the Thessaly plain over the course of ten years there were continuous battles between two camps of the gods: the Titans and the Olympians. The majestic pillars of Meteora, with varying success, were taken by that and then by the other side. To the aid of Zeus came the Cyclops and the Hecatonchairs and the Titans were defeated; Some of them recognized the new ruler, the rest were overthrown in Tartarus, and the hekatonhaires became their guardians.

На просторах Фессалийской равнины на протяжении десяти лет происходили непрерывные сражения между двумя лагерями богов: Титанов и Олимпийцев. Величественные столбы Метеоры с переменным успехом занимали то та, то другая сторона. На помощь Зевсу пришли циклопы и гекатонхейры и титаны были побеждены; часть из них признала нового владыку, остальные были низвергнуты в Тартар, а гекатонхейры стали их стражами.

There was a lull, but not for long. Gaia, harboring resentment against Zeus, pushed the giants to fight with the Olympic gods. Under the leadership of Eurimedion, settling on the hills of Meteora, they began to throw the sky with huge rocks and burning oaks, trying to destroy the gods of Olympus.

Наступило затишье, но ненадолго. Гея, затаив обиду на Зевса подтолкнула гигантов на борьбу с олимпийскими богами. Под предводительством Эвримедиона, расположившись на холмах Метеоры, они стали забрасывать  небо огромными скалами и горящими дубами, стараясь уничтожить богов Олимпа.

The return blow of the gods did not bring victory - the giants remained alive. Hera, the wife of Zeus, predicted to the gods that they would win only with the help of a mortal; Giants are not vulnerable to the hands of the gods. In this difficult period, Athena attracted Hercules to her side. There were 150 giants, but among them there were only 12 most important and powerful, which were supposed to defeat 12 gods of Olympus: one giant per Olympian god. Thus, the oldest giant named Alkioni was born to overthrow Aida himself, Enceladus was the enemy of Athena, Polybot was born to destroy Poseidon, Mimant - the death of Hephaestus, and Porfirion - as a rival of Zeus.

Ответный удар богов не принёс победы – гиганты оставались живы. Гера, жена Зевса предрекла богам, что они одержат победу только с помощью смертного, т.к. гиганты не уязвимы для рук богов. В этот трудный период Афина привлекла на свою сторону Геракла. Всего гигантов было 150, но среди них было лишь 12 самых главных и могущественных, которые должны были победить 12 богов Олимпа: по одному гиганту на одного бога-олимпийца. Таким образом, самый старший гигант по имени Алкионей был рожден с целью свергнуть самого Аида, Энкелад был врагом Афины, Полибот родился, чтоб уничтожить Посейдона, Мимант — погибель Гефеста, а Порфирион — как соперник Зевса.

And here on the Phlegrean fields a terrible battle broke out, in which the gods, thanks to the help of the Cyclops, the Hecatonchairs and Hercules, won and killed the giants.

И вот на Флегрейских полях разгорелась страшная битва, в которой боги, благодаря помощи циклопов, гекатонхейров и Геракла одержали победу и перебили гигантов.

The main opponent of Poseidon Polobot retreated to the Crimea, hiding on Mount Demirji, but Poseidon, broke through the Bosporus isthmus and into the fresh Novoevsinskoye sea, which surrounded the Crimean peninsula, rushed salty waters, killing all life. Polybot ran, persecuted by Poseidon, to the island of Kos, but Poseidon cut off part of the island - Nisyros - and dropped it on the giant.

Главный противник Посейдона Полибот отступил в Крым, укрывшись на горе Демирджи, но Посейдон, прорвал Босфорский перешеек и в пресное Новоевксинское море, окружавшее крымский полуостров, хлынули солёные воды, убивая все живое. Полибот бежал, преследуемый Посейдоном, на остров Кос, но Посейдон отсёк часть острова — Нисирос -  и сбросил её на гиганта.

Many traces of this battle of the gods with the giants keep the Crimean mountains. The huge stone blocks, which giant Polybot threw into the gods, cover the foot of Demirgi. Lightnings hit the rocks leaving their tracks. The huge stone statue of Gaia collapsed into the abyss. And how to know how many more monsters would appear from the bowels of the earth, if Athens did not happen to be with Gorgon's head, which turned them into stone. Stone sculptures, incredible monsters, fabulous birds and animals, phalos - all this keeps the famous Valley of Ghosts. On the southern extremity there is a rock, similar to its outlines on the female head, although near it resembles the head of the sphinx.

Много следов этой битвы богов с гигантами хранят крымские горы. Огромные каменные глыбы, которые гигант Полибот бросал в богов,  устилают подножие Демирджи. Молнии ударяли в скалы оставляя свои следы. Громадное каменное изваяние Геи рухнуло в пропасть. И как знать, сколько бы ещё чудовищ появилось из недр земли, не случись рядом Афины с головой Горгоны, которая обратила их в камень. Каменные изваяния, невероятные чудовища, сказочные птицы и звери, фалосы — все это хранит знаменитая Долина Приведений. На южной оконечности высится скала, похожая своими очертаниями на женскую голову, хотя вблизи она напоминает скорее голову сфинкса.

So the gods defeated the giants, and Gaia, in a rage, gave birth to the terrifying Typhon, the greatest enemy of the gods and the most terrible of the children of Gaia and Tartarus.

Так боги победили гигантов, а впавшая в ярость Гея родила порождающего ужас Тифона — самого главного противника богов и самого ужасного из детей Геи и Тартара.

And Mount Demirji, or as it was called by the Greeks - Funa - continued to smoke for a long time, until it calmed down, and there was no fire over its top .... But this is a legend from another time ...

А гора Демирджи, или как ее называли греки – Фуна – ещё долго дымилась, пока она не успокоилась, и не стало огня над её вершиной…. Но это легенда из другого времени…
